In 2007 C&S was awarded “The Eaton supplier Excellence Award” which is given to the 0.05% of Eaton suppliers worldwide. A 12 Billion USS corporation, Eaton is one of C&S’s major export customers. 

The Distinguished Alumnus Award

Both of our founder directors have been awarded the coveted “Distinguished Alumnus Awards” by the Indian Institute of Technology. The “Distinguished Alumnus Awards” is conferred by IIT on some of its rarest alumni who have distinguished themselves in their own field of endeavor and have made their alma mater proud. In addition in 2005 our CMD was also honoured as “Jewel in the Crown” by IIT-Kharagpur. Both our founder director are actively involved with the IIT institute in furthering the causes of quality technical education in the country.

The Distinguished Alumnus Award - 2006

The Distinguished Alumnus Award - 2004

MR. ASHOK KHANNA, MD & DIRECTOR (TECHNICAL) was awarded DISTINGUISED ALUMNUS AWARDS -2004 BY IIT MADRAS. This awards given to the alumni who have received training at the IIT and have distinguished themselves professionally and occupy top positions in the industry, Government and the Academy.

Joint Venture between C&S Group & EFACEC

Controls & Switchgear Group of India & EFACEC Group of Portugal joined hands on January 31, 2008 to form a joint venture to set up a Medium Voltage Switchgear manufacturing facility in India.M

EFACEC Group is the largest electrical and electromechanical Portuguese group, founded way back in the year 1907, which is present in all the areas of power generation, transmission & distribution, control & automation.

EFACEC Group turnover for the financial year 2007-08 is approximately Rs. 3600 Crores. EFACEC Group has manufacturing plants in Portugal, Argentina, Mozambique, Angola, China, Malaysia, India and United States of America.   The group employs around 3000 persons with sales offices in all five continents and present in 65 countries around the globe.

The partners propose two activities, one which will address the growing Indian market for medium voltage switchgear and another which will exclusively supply components and assemblies to the global medium voltage subsidiaries of EFACEC Group.

In India,  the JV will supply products which are used  in power-plants and heavy industries. Secondary distribution products are used in the distribution network and in  light industry and commercial real estate. The total capital investment is expected to be approximately Rs. 35  crores. The total numbers of employees around 250 persons.   The area occupied by the JV operations will be approximately 4000 sqm to begin with and will be located in Noida.

The operations are expected to have a sales turnover of around Rs. 200 crores by the fourth year. The Indian market for the primary and secondary medium voltage switchgear is approximately Rs. 1500 crores and is expected to grow at around 25% per annum.
